Glam Street Salon and Spa: Review and Experience

Tired of looking for a salon with super awesome-pocket-friendly services and over the top cozy ambiance? Well then, head straight over to “Glam Street Salon and Spa” in E-11/2 Markaz.

Sana Khan, the owner of Glam Street was kind enough to invite me and a few other bloggers for a Blogger’s Day Out, providing us with any service(s) of our choice. The lady herself has worked as a Corporate Employee for L’Oreal Paris and a few other renowned brands. Not only that, she has also served as a Commercial Director a “The Nail Spa”, UAE.

The salon is located at the first floor of a plaza in E11/2 Markaz. As soon as I entered, it felt like I stepped into another world with a homely warmth. The salon walls are covered in brick wallpaper giving an impression of a street style. At the very entrance, a counter is present with an extremely charming lady who welcomes everyone warmly. Behind the counter, an open waiting area is located to accommodate atleast 7-8 people. At the center, 4 manicure and pedicure sofas with sinks and tables are fixed.Opposite to the sofas are the haircutting/hairstyling chairs and mirrors, dedicated to serve 4 clients at a time. At the very left corner of the salon, a snack bar is present to provide special treats to the clients. Essie nail colors are also displayed here so you can choose your color before the mani/pedi. The salon also has massage and wax rooms. The best thing is the blackboard with a “NO WiFi” message written on it, to make sure that everyone fully enjoys their treatment and relaxes in the meantime. Who does that nowadays, right?

The whole staff is very friendly and professional. Each girl is dressed up properly with their hair tied up in a ponytail or bun. As far as the hygiene is concerned, I would rate everything 10 on 10!

Moving on, Glam Street provides a number of services at very affordable prices. From haircuts to massages, manicures to body bliss, they have it all! The real star of the salon though is the “Glam Glow” facial which to be honest, I have not heard any other salon provide. Hell the product itself isn’t even available in the market yet! Unfortunately, as I had makeup on that day, I was not able to avail the service so instead, I decided to try what I like to call, “The Essie Manicure” 😛

The service itself was a long relaxing one and a half hour treatment consisting of shaping nails, soaking, removal of excess cuticles and callouses around the nails, scrubbing, moisturizing, massaging and lastly nail polish application. Meanwhile the owner was generous enough to offer me a hot cup of tea with a cookie, along with a super relaxing head, neck and shoulder massage from one of her massage experts ( Bless her!). Oh, and how can I forget to mention how much I enjoyed watching MTV after so long!

The Essie nail color I chose was the number 771 (SIZE MATTERS), which is a blazing ruby red. A base nail polish (transparent) was first applied and dried. After that, the chosen nail polish was applied and secured with a transparent top coat.

I must say the whole experience felt very luxurious. All of us were departed with a lovely goodie bag containing service pamphlet, a customized “Glam Street” mug and a few discount coupons. I’m definitely visiting again and I highly recommend you all to pay this place a visit too!
